The Controls

 

Throttle Control

To adjust the throttle, place the stylus on the throttle control and drag it up or down. The throttle adjusts the amount of thrust and the speed of your plane.

When the throttle is at its lowest setting the breaks will be applied and the engine turned off.

The joystick

To move the joystick place the stylus on the joystick or anywhere on screen away from other controls and drag in the direction you wish to move it. In external views, the centre of the movement will be shown by a cross.

When flying the joystick is used to control the aircrafts pitch and roll.

When at low speeds on the runway the joystick can be used to steer the aircraft.

The instruments

  1. Airspeed indicator and throttle. The white line shows the airspeed and the red line the throttle.
  2. Fuel guage. When the needle is fully to the right you have a full tank of fuel. Keep an eye on this!
  3. Altimeter. This shows the plane's height above sea level.

 

Take Off

The first skill to master is your take off.

  1. Increase your throttle to full power.
  2. Wait until your plane have sufficient speed to life off. At this point the nose of the plane will dip slightly and the tail will lift.
  3. Pull back on the throttle to lift the aircraft off the runway.

Landing

When coming in to land you must make sure your speed is low and the aircraft is level. To earn cash bonuses for good landings you should position your aircraft down the centre of the runway and touch down as gently as possible.

When you come to a stop on the runway you will be taken to the runway menu.

Runway Menu

You may access this menu whenever you are stationary on the runway, it will allow you to equip your plane, buy new aircraft, manage your jobs and give you some information about where you have landed.

The currently selected plane is always shown at the top of the screen.

This screen tells you where you have landed and how many bonus rings are left to collect on this island.

To take off, tap the 'Take Off' button.

This screen shows the planes that are available. You can cycle through them using the yellow arrows. Use this screen to buy new planes and to select which plane to fly.

As you progress through the game new planes will become available on this screen.

This screen allows you to equip your plane.

Most important is the refuel option. This will give you a full tank of fuel.

Aero upgrade improves the planes handling.

Engine upgrade will give the plane more power and so allow it to fly faster.

Fuel tank upgrade will increase the maximum fuel you can carry, so increase the range you can fly without refueling.
This screen allows you to begin a new job, or to quit your current job. It shows what you will earn from the job and gives an indication of how much flying is involved.
