We bought a bit of Crete
Part of the Venetian Harbour in Chania

Crete is for all the year

On many of the islands, when winter comes, all but a handful of the inhabitants pack up and head for Athens.

Crete is big enough to have three major cities and many towns that stay alive all year round.

Crete is as far south as you can get in Greece which means that the winters

are mild (but wet) down by the sea. If you want snow just head for the mountains.

Because of the size of the island it has different weather, landscapes and resorts all in a drivable distance.

The North East, where Gavalohori is located, is the cool side of the island, relatively speaking, with sea breezes taking some of the edge off the heat.
