NEWS FLASH 28th March
At a special staff meeting this morning, the Vice Chancellor announced that
INTO's business plan had not been accepted by the university and that the joint
venture would not be proceeding. We feel that this is in large measure due
to the 100% opposition from ICELS staff and the joint campaign by UCU and UNISON
and is a victory for solidarity.

These web pages have been established to put the case for preventing the privatisation of ICELS at Oxford Brookes University. To find out more about ICELS, click here.
The university is currently in discussions with INTO University Partnerships on a joint venture for the provision of on-campus pre-university programmes for international students. INTO have already set up joint ventures with the universities of East Anglia, Exeter and Newscastle. From the Brookes side the venture is being driven by Professor John Raftery, Pro Vice Chancellor (External Affairs).
