The Revd. John Nicholls
The first Priest-in-charge appointed to the new conventional district of St. John's Oakdale Road was a native of Cornwall, the Revd. J. G. Nicholls. A former P R man of remarkable drive and energy, he had been Curate at Newark Parish Church. Licensed here on June 2nd, 1955, he later became the first Incumbent of the new parish.
