Designed in
the 1950's in the 'contemporary' style, by the distinguished
architect Vernon Royle, the church of St. John's stands in a
'leafy suburb' on the north east edge of Nottingham, high on
a hill overlooking the Trent Vale, its tower and cross visible
for many miles.
