| Tring got their season back on
track after three successive defeats as they came
from behind to beat Edgware Town, both their
goals coming in first half stoppage time. Tring
manager Howard Cowley was happy with the
performance: "We had to work really hard to
achieve this. It was Leon Hibbert's first goal in
the Ryman League, and Kevin Chakaodza's first 90
minutes. We were forced into all three
substitutions, and everyone played their part.
Both the goals were excellent, and the first one
came from the best bit of football played by
either side all afternoon. Sean Sangster's
contribution as captain was outstanding - he led
by example throughout." As in their last home
game, Tring fell behind early on. Brian O'Leary
received a square pass on the edge of the penalty
area and struck a firm shot past Tring keeper
David Clark to put Edgware ahead in the 6th
minute.
Tring took a
while to get going, and didn't have an effort on
goal until the 10th minute, when Kevin Chakaodza
went round a defender to create a shooting chance
for himself, but his shot was turned round the
post by keeper Alex Di Rubbo. On 15 minutes
Alex Kinsley had a close-range shot charged down
by a defender, and three minutes later Kinsley
almost had another chance when Mike Hemmingway's
shot from a narrow angle was parried by Di Rubbo,
but O'Leary just got in ahead of Kinsley to head
the rebound behind.

| Tring lost Joe Gibson to
injury on 29 minutes, and several other players
on each side required treatment during the half,
resulting in a lengthy period of stoppage time.
Two minutes into stoppage time Tring put together
their best move of the match. Sean Sangster
received the ball out wide from Kinsley, and
crossed to the far post, where Gary Clark's
effort from point-blank range was well saved by
Di Rubbo, but the rebound fell for Leon Hibbert
on the edge of the area, and Hibbert struck the
ball through a crowd of players to level the
scores and notch his first ever Tring goal. Six minutes into stoppage
time, Rob Woolfrey's early ball forward allowed
Kinsley to beat the offside trap, and Kinsley ran
clear to calmly chip the ball over Di Rubbo,
ending a lengthy goal drought to finally notch
his first of the season and send Tring into the
break ahead.
Tring were
straight back on the attack in the opening minute
of the second half. Sangster's overhead kick put
Kinsley clear again, but this time Ian Kennedy
got back to make a last-ditch saving tackle. From
the resulting corner Hemmingway's header was
cleared off the line by a defender.
Tring suffered
further injury problems, with both Hibbert and
Wayne Barber having to leave the game, requiring
a reshuffle of the formation. The visitors were
never out of the game, with Clark somehow keeping
out a close-range header from Jamie Gallaher on
71 minutes, and Anthony Thomas shooting over the
bar from distance two minutes later.
The game could
have been made safe on 76 minutes. Chakaodza and
Di Rubbo went up together for Hemmingway's long
ball, and the Tring forward won the ball. As it
dropped, Chakaodza had the empty net to aim at,
but didn't make a clean contact with his shot,
allowing Michael Howard to scramble back and
clear off the line. Tring were unlucky again ten
minutes from time when Steve Groves' shot from
the edge of the area struck the bar, but were
somewhat fortunate three minutes from time when a
defensive slip left Edgware's Thomas clean
through on Clark, but he sliced his shot horribly
wide.
