Tuesday 25th February 2003 Associate Members Trophy Group C
Tring Town (0) 1 (Kinsley 72 pen)
Cheshunt (2) 3 (Obeng 5, Adams 33, Spinks 63)
At Pendley Sports Centre
Tring put up a respectable display, but once again found table-topping Cheshunt too strong for them in their final group game in the Associate Members Trophy.

There was nothing riding on the game for Tring, as they could not qualify for the quarter-finals, and it showed in the first half as the visitors dominated and went into the break with a two-goal lead. Steve Obeng scored the first in the 5th minute with a shot from a narrow angle, and Glen Adams netted the second on 33 minutes when a free kick to the far post was headed back across goal into his path.

Tring perked up in the second half, and their best move of the match on 52 minutes set up a shooting chance for Dennis Fennemore which went just wide. Cheshunt increased their lead with a breakaway goal on 63 minutes, Scott Beattie got to the bye-line and pulled the ball back for Darren Spinks to shoot home. However, Tring got a deserved consolation goal on 72 minutes. Kevin Chakaodza was brought down just inside the area by David Crate, and Tring were awarded their first penalty of the season, which Alex Kinsley netted to take his tally for the season into double figures.
