Tring took their tally of
goals over the Easter weekend to ten as they
demolished Kingsbury in Monday's league match.
Kingsbury had a couple of players unavailable,
but this was still largely the side which had
already beaten Tring three times this season.
Tring are high on confidence at the moment and in
this match they added a clinical edge to their
finishing to produce a devastating performance.
The scoring was opened in the 5th minute. Kevin
Chakaodza stabbed a pass through to Jay Marshall,
who headed for goal and shrugged off the
attentions of a defender before slipping the ball
under keeper Lee Clarke. The second goal, on 14
minutes was a stunning solo effort by Chakaodza,
who picked up the ball deep in his own half and
ran the length of the field, breezing past a
couple of defenders before slotting the ball
home.
On 22 minutes it was 3-0 when central defender
Andy Hughes rose highest to head home Alex
Kinsley's corner. Three minutes later Chakaodza
brought down a high ball and showed more
exquisite skill as he went clear and rounded
Clarke to tap home the fourth goal, his 7th in
the last six games.
The shellshocked Kingsbury side had no answer to
Tring's enterprising attacking play. On 40
minutes Wayne Barber played a one-two with
Chakaodza before chipping just over the bar, and
a minute later Barber was clean through again but
this time was denied by a good save from Clarke.
However, Tring did get a fifth goal before the
break, on 43 minutes when left-back Jack Copson
emulated Chakaodza's earlier run. Copson carried
the ball from well inside his own half past
several statuesque defenders. The beleaguered
Clarke came out to challenge but missed the ball
completely, leaving Copson to walk the ball into
the empty net.
5-0 up at half time, Tring did not rest on their
laurels in the second half and continued piling
forward at every opportunity. On 55 minutes Adam
Dale's through ball was missed by a defender to
leave Chakaodza clean through. Clarke saved
Chakaodza's shot, but Kinsley followed up to net
the sixth goal, the 50th first team goal of his
Tring career.
On 69 minutes Kinsley turned provider as he
sprinted clear down the left and squared for
Barber to tap in a well-deserved goal and put
Tring 7-0 ahead. The last 20 minutes could have
produced even more goals as Tring continued to
create chances, but couldn't quite put them away,
and in the end the only other score was a
consolation goal for the visitors, Nick Cooper
netting on 79 minutes after Tring had been caught
on the break.
Tring are now unbeaten in five games, and move up
to 10th place in the table, only three points
behind 9th placed Ware who they visit on
Saturday. |
