Still on the topic of magazine holders, I’ve been trying out a prototype jobbie which holds three of the large Smith & Wesson type mags. It’ leather, with the mags sitting in open topped “pouches”. I’m still using the drawing board clips for the “ready” use mags I need for speed reloads, but the leather “triple pocket” is great for the (essential) additional spares. Maker is Wolfshead Leather Products and the price is going to be around £8 inclusive of P&P. I haven’t heard from Andy at (at Wolfshead) for a while so I’ll chase him up & see how things are going - details on here when I have them.

There’s an increasing interest in Airsoft amongst some of the PP shooters, and there are plans afoot to maybe run a PP type match for Airsoft pistols on a trial basis. Airsoft is very big in Japan, where it’s the only type of pistol you can legally own. They, apparently, have a popular “competiton circuit” and Barry Pollard (the man involved in setting up the rules for UK PP) is trying to get hold of details on what they do, how they do it & the rules they use. If you’re interested in Airsoft, follow the relevant thread on the Practical Pistol Bulletin Board. It’s in the Airsoft section under the heading Airsoft IPSC match. UPDATE - Airsoft. For the first time Airsoft pistols were used in a PP match - the British Nationals - in the Autumn of 2002. Split into 2 divisions and using GBB (gas blow back) pistols the “Airsofters” had an excellent days sport. Splitting them into their own divisions meant they were not competing directly with the CO2/Brocock brigade, despite using the same stages. Undoubtedly there’ll be more matches in the 2003 season - watch the BBs for details.

UPDATE - My kit. In the latter part of 2002 I aquired a Beretta 92FS (CO2) and a Price Western break front holster for it. Nice, but heavy, pistol plus stiffish trigger and safety catch. My plan was to have the trigger, safety catch and action generally “fettled” (by Steve [Dremel-it] from the PP circuit), add a red dot sight and use it exclusively for I.P.A.S. events. BUT the plan has changed - I’m switching to Brocock, so will be competing in the revolver division for the 2003 season. I’ll be selling the Beretta (un fettled), and my CP88, just keeping the S&W as a back up.
