LOADING |
Loading may ONLY carried out when the Range Officer gives the command ‘Load and make ready’ |
1. A normal grip is taken, with the trigger finger along the side of the pistol, and the first part of a ‘Draw’ is carried out. |
2. The pistol is rotated to face down range, the trigger finger still along side of the pistol. |
3. The elbow is then locked into your waist. The slide is opened and a loaded magazine is inserted into the pistol. |
4. The slide is closed by gripping the sides of the pistol and pushing backwards, NOT by putting your hand, or fingers, over the muzzle and pushing backwards. 5. The pistol is then returned to the holster. The Safety Catch MUST be engaged whilst the pistol is in the holster. |

THE DRAW |
The pistol is in a ‘Ready’ condition with a magazine loaded and the Safety Catch engaged. The Range officer (RO) will give the command ‘Are you ready’, then ‘Standby’. On the start signal the draw will commence. |
1. The strong hand moves to the gun, the weak hand moves to touch your stomach. |
2. The strong hand forms a normal firing grip, with the trigger finger down the side of the pistol. The weak hand is held flat on your stomach so the pistol will not sweep it. |
3. The pistol is lifted clear of the holster, the trigger finger locates on the side of the pistol NOT on the trigger. The weak hand stays on your stomach. |
4. The pistol is rotated towards the target, trigger finger staying firmly located along the side of the pistol with the Safety catch still engaged. The hand continues to stay flat on your stomach and away from the muzzle of the pistol. |
5. The rotation towards the target is nearly complete, again with the trigger finger along the side of the gun and the weak hand flat against your stomach. |
6. Now that the pistol has been rotated towards the target, it is pushed forwards. Once the muzzle has passed the weak hand, then the weak hand moves to cover the strong hand. The Safety Catch is still engaged. |

7. The weak hand starts to cover the strong hand, forming a two handed grip. The weak hand should provide 60% of the grip, the strong hand 40% of the grip. Once the grip is complete then the Safety Catch can be disengaged. |
