Saturday 8 September 2001 saw the arrival of a strange cyclist in the village of Dyffryn. Grinning broadly, with his fine specimens strung to the handlbars, this visitor descended upon a certain Worleton garden to join the gathering of local folks in a celebration of nature. |
| The items in question were his humble ONIONS and the purpose of this meeting was to determine the weightiest specimen grown in this fair village. | |
| After carefull inspections and precise weigh-ins of all the entries, it was concluded that the overall winner was in fact the instigator of this competition, the provider of the trophy, the host of the event, the local expert in this genus and the winner of last years competition, Mat Holloway. | ![]() |
