After gaining an H.N.D in Public Art at Falkirk College Leanne Fulton went on to graduate from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA(hons) in Glass and Architectural Glass, specialising in Blown and Kiln-formed glass.

The time Leanne spent at ECA afforded many opportunities, such as participating in a 2-month exchange to Alfred University in New York State where she studied techniques including Blown Sculpture and Direct Glass Casting.

Since graduating, Leanne continues to design glass using kiln-forming techniques and has created a jewellery range using Dichroic Glass. She also works with the charity Artlink Central who provide arts activities in the community.

Originally produced for use in the aerospace industry, Dichroic glass is created using thin layers of metal oxides. Light passes through these layers to transmit a colour which changes when viewed from different angles and in varying light conditions. When encased in clear glass the colours become luminous and vibrant, Coppers turn into blues and greens giving the piece a multi-faceted look.
