Today saw the launch of Spencer's On-Line Store. Rather than being a store selling Spencer-branded goods (this is being looked atseparately), this is an on-line shopping mall of all the major retailers, like Littlewoods, M&S, and John Lewis. Run via an affiliate programme, the prices are the same but any purchases made via the Spencer site will result in the retailer making a donation to club funds. So now you know where to do your Christmas shopping!

We're pleased to announce a new sponsorship deal with The Mainland Group, a leading worldwide logistics company based here in Northampton. The sponsorship is for the Man of the Match award, which from now on will be called the Mainland Man Of The Match (or "the Mainland Main Man" if everyone is in a forgiving mood.....!). We'd like to say a big THANK YOU to Sean Meagher at Mainland for doing this, and we look forward to meeting him and some of his colleagues at The Mill for them to present the awards.

Player sponsorship is doing well, with most players now being sponsored. However, we do have a few that still need sponsors, so if you are interested, or know someone who is, please let us know.

We're extremely sad to report that Scott Coleman has decided to hang up his Saturday boots. Although only 28 years old, Scott is a legend in the UCL, and is admired by many as a good old-fashioned British centre-forward. Many UCL defenders will be greatly relieved by this item of news! With a young family, Scott was finding it increasingly difficult to devote the time he wanted to, and demonstrating a level of commitment that typifies the man, Scott believed that if he couldn't give 100% then he should withdraw. This is a huge disappointment to all at the club, many of whom would have been pleased to see Scott continue in the "supersub" role he had been playing so far this season, a "secret weapon" to be unleashed in the last 20 minutes to terrorize defences and change the course of games.

This writer would like to pay a special tribute to Scott; three seasons ago, coming up to Christmas, Spencer were entrenched in bottom place with 13 points - relegation certainties. Although not playing all that badly, an inability to score goals meant that league points were few and far between. In the January, Scott signed for the club, and suddenly there were goals, belief, and points on the board. Compared with those meagre 13 points from the first half of the season, Spencer took 30 points from the second half, finishing well above the relegation places. Scott deserves much of the credit for this remarkable turnaround in fortune. For this, and a long list of spectacular goals, a sincere thanks and best wishes to "Colesy", we hope he keeps his connection with the club, and we REALLY hope he can be tempted out of retirement for the odd cameo appearance.

18th September 2006
The Under 18s Manager, Stuart Middleton,  is pleased to announce two sponsorships. 14th September 2006
Yet another player back in the fold - Darren Frost, last years' joint leading scorer, has returned to Spencer from Southern League Woodford Utd, and if rumour is to be heeded, there may be more news soon! The partnership with Northampton Town FC continues to flourish, with Cobblers helping out with some vital training equipment and also top-class physio treatment for Steve Jelley and Jamie Moss, our long-term injured. The Webmaster would like to sincerely thank Northampton Town FC for all the help and advice given, demonstrating that they truly believe in their responsibilities as the head of the local football community. Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the issue they currently have with Northampton Borough Council with regard to the development of Sixfields, and then draw your own conclusions.

Spencer made it four out of four with a convincing 2-0 win over the much-hyped Wellingborough Town 2004. On the cabbage patch that is the Dog and Duck, first half goals from Zac and Ben, along with great saves from Alexis (including a double save from a penalty) gave the Prem new boys a taste of what it takes to be the top of the table.

Josh Urquhart is the latest player to resist the overtures of Southern League football and re-join Spencer. The 19 year old defender was signed by Brackley Town in the close season, but has decided his better interests lie at Kingsthorpe Mill. He joins Luke Dowling, Chris Davies, Scott Marshall and brother Olly Urquhart who have all said "Thanks....but No Thanks..!"

The Reserve Team's season kicks off this evening with a home fixture against local rivals Northampton Sileby Reserves. Kick Off is at 19:45
