publish them on this page.
Blow Lamp
When you clean your birds out and are
not washing the cages this time, before you put the new bedding in go
round the cage with the blow lamp, this will kill mite left in the
cage. H Clarke
Bleach in the water
Put
bleach in the water of soak seed, this stops the seed from smelling does
no harm to the birds, the seed will sprout Quicker.

Hand feeding
If you hand feed your chicks don't us
a syringe, take the dust out of your soft food, 1 teaspoon full of this
will feed 4 to 6 chicks, mix the food with your own spit till it is
sloppy, use a ring tool. And put the mix in the chicks mouth, the chick
will eat it with no forcing, the spit helps the food to slip down.
H Clarke
I was reading the 'Tips'
page, and have to disagree with H.Clarkes tip on feeding young.
He states to use your
own saliva to mix the food making it easier for the chick to eat.
Well what if the bird
keeper is a heavy smoker and heavy coffee drinker?
That person will pass over
potential poisons to
the chick.
Kind thanks,
S.Gambin
Lights
When the first chicks
hatch out put your lights on at 4 am till 9am and 4 pm till 9 pm this
will bring the slower birds in to condition and give the feeding hens
long enough time to feed the chicks.

Show cage training
When you start your show
training, put the young bird in the show cage with your hands, at first
the bird will bat around the stock cage but after a time it will let you
catch it, you do this for the first few weeks, then put the show cage on
the stock cage and the bird will start to come in, this steady's the
bird down for showing. H Clarke
