Health Education for pregnant women

 Meat which has been cooked thoroughly right through should only be eaten i.e. brown with no traces of blood or pinkness.

  • Hands and all cooking utensils must always be washed thoroughly after preparing raw meat.
  • Fruit and vegetables must be washed thoroughly to remove all traces of soil.
  • When handling dirty cat litter, hygiene is important. Faeces must be disposed of daily. Rubber gloves should be worn and hands and gloves washed afterwards. If possible, someone else should do the job.
  • Children's outdoor sandboxes should be covered in order to prevent cats using them as litter boxes.
  • Gloves should always be worn when gardening and avoid hand to mouth contact. Hands should be washed afterwards.
  • Unpasteurised milk or milk products ought to be avoided
