Yes it can sometimes hurt depending on how
close you are to the person who shoot's you. Generally anything less
than 20 feet and you'll know you've been hit, but anything beyond this
and you'll only feel a light thud, in some case you may not even know
you've been hit.
There are many different sites around and depending on what kind of
facilities they have and the kind of games they offer the prices will vary. Generally you can expect to pay £20 initially for the day,
which reflects the cost of the use of the paintball marker, face protection, over-alls and free tea and coffee. Paint again
varies depending on the make and amount you buy but expect to pay between 5p and 7p per ball. Some sites will include a couple of
hundred paintballs free and even food but where this happens the initial fee is usually higher, so be sure to ask what exactly your initial fee covers.
Most people can expect to pay between £35 and £50 for a days paintball.
If you've been bitten by the 'Paintball Bug' and want to buy your own kit and marker there
are plenty of places around where you can buy them. Your best bet is to either ask at your local paintball site as many buy and sell guns, or look on
the internet such as e-bay. You can expect to pay around £150 for a decent second hand gun and anything from £800 to £1,300 for a new one depending on the make you prefer.
It is sometimes difficult to find a novice team to join in your immediate area, and to be honest there aren't
that many novice or entry level teams around and those that are are pretty much spread throughout the country. However, we are always looking for new members to join our 'B'
team 'The Redskin Braves' so you can always think about that... But if you let me know where you are based I may be able to put you in touch with a local team, or failing
that ask at your local paintball site as there is sure to be a site team there!
