jazz orient live at the south bank

An official bootleg - this is a CDr release by the band itself to record some great moments from a classic concert. Some great live versions of some of their album tracks here stand beside great improvisations. Highlights of a great night captured on this recording available exclusively from this website.

background
at the time

Jazz Orient's concert at one of the world's most prestigious venues. A hot summer night. Amazing visuals projected on a screen behind the band. All in all a special night. The night was so hot that the South Bank DAT recorder broke down and only caught half the concert. The half recorded still had plenty of gems to enjoy.

influences

Flora Purim, Piirpauke, Okay Temiz, Oregon, Kolinda, Paul Winter

Retrospect

What would the album be with the other half of the concert recorded...we will never know - It still is a great record of a great night.
