Big news - some of you may have heard thru the grapevine that Vikki is plannig to emmigrate to New Zealand - she just needs to sell her house and she is off. She says she's sure to pop back and play now and then.

1. Farewell to Leicester gig at The Musician
This was a very special gig - Chris Conway opened and began weaving songs and stories about Vikki. Vikki then played a solo set carrying on in the same vein choosing songs from periods of her life and telling stories, before Chris joined her in thje second set. A wonderful crowd, a great gig and a wonderful emoptional vibe.

2. Loughborough Town Hall
Vikki & Chris played on a warm spring afternoon int he grand ballroom of Loughborough Town Hall, Vikki played the whole set on the mayoral throne :-) About 100 came and again Chris & Vikki spun songs and stories to an appreciative audience

3. Sandy Denny Anniversary Tribute - The Troubadour, London
Christo played with Vikki Clayton at a Sandy Denny Anniversary Tribute Concert at the historic Troubadour venue in London marking the 30th anniversary of Sandy Denny's death. VC & CC played Solo, Old Fashioned Watlz and John the Gun . Also on the bill and playing together with CC & Vikki for the final song I'm ADreamer were Martin Carthy, Linde Nijland, Kamila Thompson and band , Lisa Knapp. Linda Thompson led a discussion about Sandy Denny with Karl Dallas & Joe Boyd. 1. Vikki played a solo set and jined with Chris Conway & Dan Britton on their set at this year's Weyfest in Surrey in September. It was the 1st time in ages. Great fun was had and Vikki enjoyed meeting lots of old chums including Ric Sanders who was also there with hsi band.

Vikki played a wonderful set at Loughborough Folk Festival with Chris Conway in assistance - the forst time the 2 had played live together since May.

Vikki - Spiritual Woman compilation - now out
1. Vikki is on a compilation album called Spiritual Woman on the Paradise Music label. The track is the new one recorded with Chris Conway called Avalon Moon - the title track of her next album in production. Other artists on the compilation include new age artists Bliss, Juliana, and Kym. to hear clips go here. The album is also on Amazon UK

Vikki & CC at Belvoir Castle Folk Weekend
Vikki & Chris Conway had a great time roaming Belvoir Castle at the Folk Weekend there in May. They gave a workshop on guitar tuning (to one man :-) ) and then gave a fab 35minute concert. Apart from recording it was their first time playing together since October last year.

Vikki in the Studio

After months of clashing schedules Vikki Clayton came to Oblong Studios in March to begin recording her latest CD Avalon Moon on the Paradise Music label.
Chris Conway is to produce the album of songs and atmospheric wordless pieces. The plan is across between the style she is best known for on Movers & Shakers & Journey to the Stars mixed with the atmospheric stylings she added to the Govannen - Healing Waters CD.
They began by recording the title track - a song written by Christo. Vikki recorded lead vocals and 4 layers of harmonies.
They plan to record tracks here and there as they can. Christo says "We don't want to break our backs in some heavy recording sessions - keep it light and fun - a say here and there."
It is hoped that session players such as guitarist/bodhranist Dan Britton and bassist Neil Segrott and flute player Clookai canadd their talents to the mix.

Septemeber 05
Chris Conway joins Vikki for some gigs in September - Faversham Hop Festival sees Vikki reunited with Chris and bassist Neil Segrott for a rare Vikki Clayton Band gig. CC also joins Vikki in Lincolnshire on the 10th Sept, plus the band reunite in Leicester on the 29th Sept at the Musician venue.

1. Vikki Clayton CD - recording starts soon.
A CD of atmospheric songs for Paradise Music label is to be recorded - working title Avalon Moon focusing on Arthurian legend and will feature songs and atmospheric music. Christo to produce at his Oblong Studios.

1. CD Vikki recorded as special guest with Celtic/New Age project - Govannen - Healing Waters - The Legends of the Chalice Well - on the new Paradise Music label is out now.

Vikki was special guest on Chris Conway's Celtic new age Govannen CD project. Vikki added atmospheric wordless vocals on 6 tracks, often in stacked harmonies. The CD is by Celtic band Govannen and is called "Healing Waters - The Legend of the Chalice Well"

The album is instrumental and features traditional Irish & Breton tunes, new tunes, and atmospheric music.
Healing Waters focuses on The Chalice Well, Glastonbury for it's inspiration and will eb released in the next couple of months.

Vikki will play with Chris Conway in June at the Faversham Folk Club, Kent - due to busy commitments on both sides the 2 haven't been able to play together for quite sometime. They are also playing at a private party together in Rutland in May...

Vikki will sing a song on Chris Conway's jazz songs project - each song to be sung by a different female singer he has worked with - which has to include Vikki of course ! Other singers on board include Brazilian diva Ithamara Koorax, Sally Barker, Debbie Robinson, Judith Silver, Chloe Singer, more to come...
