We have a Forward Glamour approach for everything in life - and this includes entertaining.

Desperate to prove our culinary skills (and show off our new aprons) FG HQ played host to one of the top ten most glamorous events of the year, at least. Our dinner party supreme took sophistication to an extreme.

Staff at FG HQ paddled frantically through the endless amount of administrative work required. Ms Maxine Fax spent hours at the switchboard, with a phone on each ear and another on speakerphone. Why? Well, due to backwards circumstances, the classy RSVPs which no doubt were put in the post, never actually arrived. How many guests would be attending? Only Maxine Fax, our senior administrative operative, together with her team of able workhorses could find out.

In the end, eight privileged invitees were confirmed. This ensured that Miss Heather Downe-Doové and her housekeeping team had their hands full co-ordinating accommodation requirements. Catering had informed us that due to the planned FG Menu, guests would not be able to drive home.

Our most senior Graphic Designers rustled up an exclusive set of limited edition handheld menus and guest place cards. Edged with hot pink, they certainly brought a touch of cutting-edge glamour to the occasion.

The task of folding the napkins into orderly shapes was contracted out to a Scandinavian firm. Föld ltd sent us their top associate 'M' who swiftly, in a flurry of skilful hand movement, created…... Water Lillies, emerging, from the serene waters du table.

And so, the guests arrived. Little did they know that we'd been peeling potatoes in our finery just a few moments earlier. Appetising aromas whet appetities, and it wasn't long after the delectable starter that our stunning 'Poulet de citron avec Mlle Rosemary et rôti des pommes de terres' graced the Royal Doulton.

It didn't stay there long, for it was a hit. And then, the finale to an extraordinary meal - "Don't Trifle With FG". Our dessert was unveiled from the fridge and guests looked on in awe. Lovingly and painstakingly created to perfection, each individual masterpiece was topped by a cocktail parasol, and for that certain 'je ne sais quoi' a sprinkling of Smarties. But the real treasure was at the bottom - see our recipe below for guidelines.
