BMW Group Birmingham Factory, Longbridge. Project Bulk Sulphuric Acid, Ferric Sulphate storage and dosing. Programme 14 Weeks Description BMW Group decided to refurbish and upgrade their West Effluent Plant. New bulk storage for sulphuric acid 50% solution and ferric sulphate 40% solution was to be provided, and dosing of the solutions was to be automated. Design wastewater flow to treat - 90m³/hr minimum. Unifloc executed the turnkey design, supply, installation and commissioning of the mechanical, electrical and civils works. Redundant bulk storage tanks, other mechanical and electrical plant and redundant bund walls were removed, and the tank plinth renewed and extended. New 20m³ working capacity tanks with integral bunds were installed, and piped up to dispense reagent via duty/standby dosing pumps under plc control. The plc manages the dosing system via the signals from a flowmeter and pH probe. Various system alarms for plant operations include high
