Ancient Tree

Ancient tree, you comfort me.
I lean on your wisdom,
experience and strength.
You have known loss
and harsh weather.
You are a survivor.

Ancient tree,
you set me free.
You make no demands,
exert no pressures.
I come and go
and when I return
you are still there.

Ancient tree,
stand and be
a symbol of life,
growth and survival.
Beneath your branches
I feel encouraged.
You set an example.
