My name is Valerie MacFarlane and I live, study and work in London. I graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design. Also in London, I worked at the AB Fine Art Foundry during 1999-2000. My experience includes working with Andrei Bartenev on Sun Isn't Moon, a show for the Royal Festival Hall in 1998. Also that year, I exhibited in the event "Addressing The Century" at the Hayward Gallery.
One of my qualifiications is in specialist paint effects, some examples of which can be viewed on my "Paint Effects" web page. Over the years I have created backdrops for street theatre troupes. These include Mahabara in Israel, Zanka and Ile Utopie in France. I hold mural workshops in London schools as an activity to involve children in art.
