The Bamkin family are thought to be all related. It is known that Bempkins are descended from a Bamkin. Emily Ann Baldwin (nee Bamkin) of Tredegar is of particular interest.

She remarried to Mr. Regan in 1881 at 9 Duke St, but in 1895 "Elizabeth Bempkim" was at Ellis Island with Emily and Osman Bempkims (sic)

In 1900, Ellis Island records show a Henry Bempkin age 35 arriving from Liverpool on the "Teutonic" (from Tredegar).

On August 8th 1895, The Brittanic arrived at Ellis Island New York from Liverpool carrying Elizabeth Bempkim (60), Emily Bempkim (24) and Osman Bempkim (26)
