The Danny As-Been Interview

Game show presenter, former mega-star, comic and entertainer to the elderly, Danny As-Been had a short and meteoric rise to fame in the 1980's. He originally started his career under the name Dan D Nee. Now retired, Danny is planning another come-back later this year. Seperated from his third wife, Danny lives alone in Wilmslow.

What is your most embaressing moment?
(David Poole, Derbyshire)

The Prince's Right was the most difficult show as Tai-Rack was not the most stable of princesses. This guy called Al came and used some kind of trick to win her hand. The Empress Intended and the Emporer Nintendo did'nt help.

Did you once appear as manager to Mel Bourne Hall?
(Freya and Sophie, Weston)

No, I don't think so. I think you must be thinking od Dan D Nee who appeared with Zinder Ella Weston.

Who are your favourite stars?
(Pauline and Ben)

The king is Pres-Lee the singer from Elvis-Tong. Besides him no-one compares with myself. Assistants I have had like Bimbo, Barbee and Sharon Slimey have never really been able to cut the mustard. Bimbo and Barbie started out in Weston at a Mel Bourne-Hall concert I think.

Why did you give up television?
(Simon Hudson of As-Tong)

I'd rather not talk about it .... I mean I'm semi-retired... although I am planning a come-back...possibly in Oxfordshire.

How did you get your first job as presenter?
(Trevor White)

I was understudying another famous celebrity when he became ill with food poisoning. It was such a pity, but a great opportunity for me. He never forgave me which was a pity as we had been good freinds.. only the night before he went ill, he had come for dinner at my house...

What are your tips for children who want to get ahead in Show Business?
The internet is the thing of the future, which is where I am hoping to relaunch my career. Anyone who can, say, get experience in community theatre and get some world-wide exposure is certainly set for the top. I am also hoping to appear in Pantomimes is Shiplake and St Benedicts School near Darley Abbey in 2003.
