This famous tale from 1001 nights included a spoof 'dating show' with Danny As-Been as host ....

Pinocchio of Westorino
Pinocchio's tale was mixed with Frankenstein and the Island of Dr.Moreau. Our puppet hero (Vanessa Hurt), struggled for acceptance of his(her?) disabilities with the local children. Pinocchio, Verdi, Puccini and Leonora eventually beat the evil manimal experimenter Scaramouche. The old wise withered woman of Weston (Barbara Chawner) had told the puppet that she she could find her lost father (Sophie Dawson) in Wales.

Pied Piper pf Weston
One year the village hall was being extended.... but still we created a production of the Pied Piper. It was staged at the local Ukrainian camp under the direction of Barabara Chawner and the production of Trevor White.

Zinder Ella Weston
Zinder Ella (Rachel White) lived happly with her father (Bernadette Byrne) in Weston during the New Romantic Period (1980's). Some years later, she (Harriet Rimmington) lost her childhood friend and she dreamt of entering the TV show contest "Pop Performers". Despite the worst efforts of her power crazy step mother (Debbie Rimmington) and her sisters Pearl and Dean, she won the show and the prize wass awarded by a famous pop star (Eleanor Royston).

Peter Pantomime
Our third pantomime was Peter Pantomime. That year we got really ambitious as we introduced both Flying and a live web cast that was kindly arranged by Griffin Systems. Peter was played by Amy and Tinkerbell was Vanessa Hurt

What's Funny?

If you think Airplane, Black Adder, Blazing Saddles, Black Books and Monty Python are funny. Then we have the same sense of humour.

Researching the story

Not many may care, but we read the original stories (before we twist them)! Did you know that JJ Barrie had Hook and Mr Darling played by the same actor?
The Old Wise Withered Woman in Pinnochio knew where to find his dad ...

TRADITION - All of our productions start with the line "On the Green... beside the pinfold ...

PINFOLD? - A pinfold is a community owned area where stray sheep can be left until they are reclaimed. We have the remains of one near our village green.

Sorry - We havn't yet performed Sinbad, Ali Baba, Babes in the Wood, Rumpelstiltzkin, Snow White, Robinson Crusoe, Puss in Boots, Rapunzel, Elves and the Shoemaker, Dracula, Jack and the Beanstalk or Mother Goose, but there is always next year....

... Weston Panto have used a number of scripts that have gone on to be used by other dramatic productions

Many of our previous productions have original lyrics and some original tunes. Our Musical Director since we started has been Bryan Dawson ... search google ... he's on the web
