A PlanetGrrl Guide to basic HTML

or how to create your online presence without going loony.

If you want to follow some guidelines here are some good ones.

No frames. Argh you might say, I love frames, they look so darn cute. I agree but unfortunately lots of users, browsers and robots don't like them.

Use the 500 pixels guidelines. You are probably designing on a PC, remember lots of Mac users only see things at 500 pixels wide. Don't annoy them, watch the width of tables, pictures and etc. Check your page on a number of browsers and resolutions.

Get your point in the title, and don't use things like 'the ultimate' 'the best site on the net' or other crap. Get relevant words in your title because the search engines will use this to display your page in listings etc.

Big graphics. I have committed this crime many times.

More tips soon.
