Cybermen Building

Cyberman!

The Cybermen were somewhat easier to build than the Daleks. I was assisted in this task by a good friend who allowed his original 'Earthshock' Cyber head to be copied as well as sharing the construction duties. The Mould was again done in fibreglass. To enable the Mould to be removed from the head it was constructed in several pieces. A total of five were used :- Back, Left side, Right side, Face and Forehead.

A Chest unit from a 'Nemesis' Cyberman was also borrowed and copied. In order to produce as accurate a model as possible it was decided to construct the 'Nemesis' variant as we had the chest units and the silver suits could easily be made form readily available materials. This also meant some modifications to the piece on the top of the head which had to be scratch built along with the 'diamond pattern' glass chin.

Permission was obtained from the BBC to use the models at the event for fundraising.

 A tatty head mold

The five pieces of the head Mould bolted together and ready for fibreglassing. It may not look pretty but it is functional!
A new head pulled fresh from the Mould. Any holes were filled with Milliput ( modelling filler) before sanding. The holes for the eyes, ears, ear pipes and chin  then have to be cut.
