Message From The Chairman

A warm welcome to you all, on what may be your first musical of the new millenium. It is quite hard to believe that after nearly sixty years of putting on shows we are still here, and I  would like to take a moment in thanking all our members, and Ex members, who's contribution throughout the years have given us the high standards we always try to achieve. And remember those who are no longer with us...... Gone but never forgotten.

Planning shows for you to see in the future is not an easy task, and with the ever-spiralling cost of shows, the concern with all societies is how long can we all afford to keep going? I think the answer is as long as you keep coming to see and enjoy our shows and concerts. It is with your patronage with these productions that we can just about keep our heads above water.

One other thing we need to keep us going are new members. Our next production of Mack and Mabel in October is surely a must for any budding actor, singer or dancer. For it has parts a plenty songs-a-merry and dancing galore. If you want to do something different in this new Century and would love to tread the boards, please don't be afraid to give us a ring or even Email us at our great Web site.

        OK.
Sit back, relax and enjoy a few hours of wonderful entertainment.
                                                                                     Best wishes, Phil Summerell

The Show

Director & Choreographer: Jeremy Tustin                              Musical Director: Colin Neville

It was star choreographer and director Bob Fosse's original concept: to turn a movie by Italian director Federico Fellini into a musical. Drawing on the combined talent of librettist Neil Simon and songwriters Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields, Fosse put on a show packed with dazzling dances and showstopping numbers. But, above all, the team created one of Broadway's most memorable characters, the dime-a-dance girl who still believes in love, Sweet Charity herself.
