County of Surrey Archery Association

Spring Longbow Championships
held on Saturday 3rd May 2003

Our first two-day Western of the year was held on the grounds of Woking Archery Club, yet again we were blessed with fine weather, it was fine and bright, but a very strong wind down the ground which made shooting quite challenging.

We offer our thanks to all those members of Woking Archery Club who made the day possible by their cheerfulness and help in setting up the field, and bringing in all the equipment at the end. In future we will also request assistance from other County Archers on the field at the end to return equipment to the shed. Lynne Stephenson and Mary Tapley also deserve our thanks for their splendid efforts in the kitchen.

Our Lady Paramount was Woking member, Helen Barrett.

As you all know we have to cap entries at 90. This year the shoot was actually full by the middle of February, but a number of people very kindly informed me when they realised they could not shoot after all. This was most appreciated.

It was lovely to see you all, and hope that you enjoyed the shoot as much as we, the organisers did. Our next event is on Saturday 6th September.
