Welcome
to one of the most comprehensive
web sites on the Ashes Series. The series takes place
between two cricketing nations, namely England and Australia.
It all began way back in Melbourne on the 15th
of March 1877, just as a matter of interest, Australia
won the game by 45 runs. However it wasn't until 1882,
5 years later, that the 'Ashes'
were born as we know them today. In the early days
there was no set format as to who should host the series
or when they should be played, unlike today's very busy
schedule that International cricketers face. The Ashes
has thrown up many interesting conflicts, great players
and amazing achievements - my hope is that I can bring
you some of these on this site.
