Tireless Suffers Another Mechanical Fault
The nuclear submarine Tireless returned home to Devonport yesterday, having spent nearly a year at Gibraltar following the discovery of a crack in her cooling system. However, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has now revealed that a valve in HMS Tireless' cooling system has broken. This latest technical set back was discovered before Tireless left Gibraltar, but wasn't considered serious enough to prevent her sailing. The MOD confirmed a replacement part has been ordered and would be fitted shortly.
Tireless left Gibraltar on May 7th and headed to the Clyde submarine base at Faslane, arriving on May 14th.
