Job Losses at Rosyth
Babcock Engineering Services have revealed plans for more than 360 job losses at Rosyth Dockyard.
The announcement comes amid the immanent completion of refit work on the nuclear submarines HMS Sceptre and HMS Spartan.
The company attributes the job losses to a decision in 1993 to carry out nuclear submarine refits at Devonport. This has left the company with a shortage of work at the present time.
In the longer term, Rosyth can look forward to refit work on HMS Invincible, HMS Illustrious and five Type 23 Frigates.
