RFA Bacchus- Stores Support Ship and Distilling Vessel

Fitted with a distilling plant RFA Bacchus displaced 5,790 tons fully loaded. She had a complement of 44 and a speed of 12 knots. Measured 320ft in length, 49ft in breadth and 18ft in draught.

Bacchus served on the River Clyde between 1939 and 1941. She was then based in India for service in the Far East. Following the end of the Second World War she undertook freighting runs between the Far East and home waters. Sold in August 1962 at Singapore.
