1998 Christmas Lights Tour

Displaying its adverts to the public for the first time, RT2291 went the whole hog when it attended the annual 'Christmas Lights Tour' (organised by
John Hinson). A full report of the event will be found at the Wealdstone & District site.

It was still daylight for the layover at St Pancras.
Where have all the others got to then? - (Ian Smith).

On the way to St Pancras, a tour of some erstwhile Bromley Garage RT routes was undertaken by Robin, together with Ian Smith ( Ian's Bus Stop) as Conductor. By way of a Thank You, Ian kindly gave us his much coveted Christmas Bus of the Week slot (Please 'Click' for views of the RT in and around Bromley).

As Ian says, This picture simply should not have come out
Following a photographic trip on parts of the 119, 126, 138 & 146,
RT2291 finally settled on being a 47 for the tour - (Ian Smith).

Underneath the arches!
The stop at Bermondsey was shared with the first ever appearance of a GS on the Tour,
this was of course GS62 belonging to Alan Charman - (Phil Evans).

Such was the quality of the restoration performed by the previous owner, that so far we have only had to replace the exhaust system and the odd water hose on this vehicle. However, Mike is now itching to get the lid off the green paint! (anybody got some 402 blinds?)
