Amillymollymoo |
 |
Bella |
|
Molly is the name we use for Amillymollymoo.
She is a Burmilla and the daughter of Bella. She sits quietly on the beach
at Abereiddy in West Wales, where we have our holidays. Around her
are the Ammonites, a discarded Ale bottle; Apples and
Avocets peck amongst the pebbles and stones. An inquisitive Ant
scrambles over Algae-covered timbers to reach the Acer
behind her. |
Bella is our little Chinchilla Persian,
sitting quietly here on a piece of Bark in front of Badbury
Rings in Dorset. A Bee is showing a keen interest in a
Basket of Bluebells and popped them by a wooden Boule. A
Bluetit has been tempted away from the Bird table onto the
Basket. The old Barn in the background has proved
attractive to many other Birds. |
 |
Chester |
 |
Dylan |
|
Chester is a beautiful red Persian cat. As a
kitten he poses serenely on his Cushion that lies on a rich Persian
Carpet. A Canary in its gilded Cage forms the
backdrop, whilst a Carafe of wine attracts the attention of a Comma
butterfly. Japanese Chrysanthemums decorate the walls, Crystals
hang from the ceiling and Cornelian form another focal group in the
front. |
Dylan takes me back to my childhood spent on a
farm under a hill called Duncliffe in North Dorset. The old
Dairy has milk churns outside. Dylan is having a picnic with
Doughnuts, Dundee cake and Damsons. Dandelions
and Daisies grow under the tablecloth whilst a Daddy-long-legs
finds the picnic interesting; as does a Dragonfly. |
 |
Esphahan |
 |
Foofie |
|
Esphahan is better known as ‘Phuan’. So
serene, he sits beside the Nile in Egypt in front of a graceful
Egret. They are both aware of an Eel in the river. I have added
Elderberries that are black to echo Phuan’s colour. With a
decorated Egg of an Egyptian design. Emeralds adorn
the setting of the Wadjet Eye. |
Foofie, whose full name is Sufi-Foofie, is a
beautiful Tiffanie. She is only comfortable in plush surroundings. Here
seen with Feathers and Fan in a Victorian Drawing Room. A
Frame has photographs of her parents, alongside a Fuchsia. A
Fire burns in a Fireplace and a Fern sits above. Even
two ripe purple Figs cannot tempt her away from her elegant pose. |
 |
Gustav |
 |
Henry |
|
Gustav is generally known as ‘Teddy Bear’. .
.because he is so cuddly. In his box of Games are a Golliwog,
soft Giraffe, Globe, a Gyroscope, a Golf Ball
and a wooden Goat. Some other games pieces have slipped into the
picture even though the don’t begin with the letter ‘G’. Perhaps
Gustav can’t spell! |
Henry is a Birman cat. He watches everything
and everybody. The Heathland behind him is home to Heather,
and Honeybees from the nearby Hives. Wild flowers flourish
along the roadsides - Honeysuckle and Herb Robert with
autumnal Hips and Haws over the gate.A Heron from a
nearly lake flies lazily across the sky. |
 |
Ishtar |
 |
Jaywooster |
| Ishtar is a
Singapura cat, standing next to an Ionic column and with Iris
flowers in front. Incense wafts gently from an old brass Incense
burner. A bottle of Indigo Indian Ink has spilt over an old map
of India whilst two Ibis fish in the River Indus. |
Jaywooster,
popularly known as just Wooster is elegantly posed outside his Junkshop.
Jelly Babies and Jelly Beans have been spilled on the
doorstep. In the window a couple of Jardinières support a
Jack-in-the-box; a Jester hangs above whilst a Jay, some
Egyptian Jewellery, a Jolly Roger flag, some glass Jars
and a toy Juggernaut complete Wooster’s merchandise for sale. On
the pavement are scattered a few stones of Jasper. |
 |
Kittens (Kasbah, Katie and Khan) |
 |
Lucy |
|
Kasbah, Khan and Katie are three
naughty Kittens. Fascinated by the chessboard with the white
Knight and King still standing. A Kingfisher perches in
a Kingcup, and to the side of the Kittens are a Kitchen
Knife, Kiwi-fruits and Kumquats. In the sky are both a
toy Kite and a red Kite, a most magnificent bird. |
Lucy is a chocolate Burmese. She is a most
observant cat and here is dozing in front a Leaded window with
Lychett Minster Church behind. An oil Lamp and Leather
chair behind are to the left. Behind her is a vase of Lilac with a
Ladybird on the Leaves. Lemons, Liquorice allsorts
and beautiful Lapis Lazuli complete this composition. |
 |
Miss Moppet |
 |
Nocturne |
|
Moppet is elderly now and brings back
Memories of a tortoiseshell cat I had as a child. Behind her is the
Minster in Wimborne, next to which I went to school. My first ‘car’
was a Morris Minivan and I enjoyed trains - hence a
Merchant Navy Class locomotive in the poster. A Mouse hides in
some Mint and a Magpie flaps across the picture; whilst at
the base a Milestone has Mushrooms growing beside it. A slab
of Marble and some toy Marbles complete the composition. |
Nocturne in now called ‘Sunny’ for his
disposition. Suitable then to show him at Night, in a window with
Net Curtains and a Nightjar outside. On the sill inside are
Nasturtiums and Nicotiana alongside Nuts & Bolts and
edible Nuts which accompany the Nightcap. |
 |
Ollivander |
 |
Pickles |
|
Ollivander sitting on a slab of Onyx
surrounded by Opium Poppies, Oregano, Onions and
Oysters form a well-stocked kitchen. A bottle of Olive Oil
completes the composition with Opals in their natural form and
polished form a foreground. The delicate shape of an Ogee Arch
frames a stem of beautiful Orchids. |
Dear Pickles, the handsome marmalade cat.
Weathered Pine forms his seat against Poole Quay with the
Lifting Bridge in the background. Pieces of well-loved Poole Pottery
become the subject of the picture. A shiny Pipe, Polished
Pebbles and a stunning Peacock butterfly complete the picture. |
 |
Quosolomilo. |
 |
Rosie |
|
Quosolomilo.
Amazingly he was
the only kitten in his litter, hence the ‘Solo’ part of the name. He sits
on our Quarry tiles in the form of a chess board which features the
white Queen. A porcupine Quill and a Quill pen are on
the board with a Quince and the letter ‘Q’ from a board
game. Drops of Quicksilver roll off the tiles. Completing the scene
is my old school - Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Wimborne
Minster, Dorset.
|
Rosie
is Moppet’s daughter and quite like her.Posing on a piece of Rosewood,
she watches a Rose Beetle crawling over the Rose Window from
Durham cathedral. A picture of Rosie wouldn’t be complete without
decoration of Rosemary, Rose Bay Willow Herb and Rose
Hips. |
 |
Sulliman |
 |
Tommy &
Tuppence |
|
Sulliman
is a Black Tiffanie, sitting beside the Stream. Seagulls
wheel around the Sun whilst Sheep peer in interest at
Sulliman. Two Swans, however, remain unconcerned. A Slug
slithers over the Slimey Stones and Scabious plants and
Spruce trees form a backdrop. |
Quite by chance we really do have two cats called Tommy &
Tuppence. Tommy is the black and white boy. It just had to be
connected with the Tommy & Tuppence of Agatha Christie fame; hence
the Tome on which they sit. Our own Tyndale Cottage is in
the background, with Teasels in front (as they are in reality).
Turquoise, Tulips and on old Telephone are here too; not
forgetting the Two Pennies! |
 |
UbiBarnaby |
 |
Vaerani |
| Dear little
UbiBarnaby has a beautiful ticked tabby coat, and he sits on an
Umber chess board and shows off against a background of the
Universe which billows from an Unusual Urn, with Ugli
fruits alongside. Ursa Minor and Uranus can be seen in the
sky. On the left are an Upside-down Ultramarine Umbrella
featuring the Greek letter, Upsilon. To complete the mystery, a
Unicorn peeps around Ubi. |
Vaerani
is a beautiful black-shaded Tiffanie see here in a Vignette, and
seated on Velvet. A Vase of Violets and a Vine
form part of the backdrop whilst a Victoria Sponge and a Viper
are in the foreground. The composition is completed by a Violin and
Vintage Van. |
 |
William
|
 |
X Litter |
|
William
is another of the Burmilla kittens; sitting here on one of my favourite
tomes - William Again. A Wine bottle and Wine glass
are placed on a piece of Wood. The Wine has attracted a
Wasp; (or maybe the Weigelia bought the Wasp through the
Window). Outside is a field of Wheat and a Wind chime
is catching any breeze. A little Wren sits on a Waste paper
basket full of Wool and Waste paper. My own Watch
completes the picture.
|
This was always going to be challenging. Thankfully we had a litter of
Asian cats beginning with the letter ‘X’.
Xaviaar,
Xenephon, Xanthe, Xarara and Xanunu are here
awaiting Xmas with X’pectation and X’citement amidst
the trappings of Xmas.
Xmas decorations
from the
Xmas Tree,
with Xmas Presents Even the Xmas Star shines upon the 5
X’traordinary babies.

 |
Yamuun
|
 |
Zar and Zarina |
|
Yawning Yamuun
surely cannot be bored with all that’s around him. Perhaps he’s tired! He
sits on a calendar from last Year. Yew branches with Yew
berries decorate a Yule log. A pretty Yellowhammer
watches Yamuun. In the other direction a Yaffle (green
woodpecker) has taken off. If he is bored, Yamuun can play
with the toy Yacht or the Yoyo! |
For the end of the alphabet, it had to be Zar, whose real name is
Abaltizar. He is Molly’s brother and father to many of our cats. A big and
beautiful Burmilla. With him is Zarina, watching him lovingly, she
is the newest cat. A Zinnia is flowering whilst a Zebra
waits patiently in a Zoo. The Zip and Zweiback bread
form a foreground and an old Zeppelin airship flies behind them. |
