UK only

‘Irhani and the seaweed’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Irhani, simply shortened to Rhani is a pure Burmilla.

Her mother, Lucy, is a chocolate Burmese and here Rhani shows the pose so typical of her mother. Alert and ready for action, she is enormously inquisitive though also very shy. A true lap cat but very much on her terms. She had only one litter of one kitten and she shares her life with Milo, her son, in the home of Lynne and James.

The work illustrates her on the Quay in Poole having seen the fisherman unload their catch, and has only succeeded in finding some seaweed from the nets.

Bullyandtheseaweed.jpg (12183 bytes)

UK only

‘Bully and the seashells’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Bully is the most handsome lilac Burmilla with a character bigger than his own undoubted bulk.

He has been known to catch many wild things around the area of Poole Quay, and is a well-known resident of the West Quay. Bully by name but certainly not by nature; he is the most gentle of creatures whose idea of heaven is to be curled up on one of the beds in his home.

He is owned by Barbara and I have shown him on the pavement of the Old Town with some of his seashells and a sprig of his beloved rosemary.

Foofieatstalbanscathedral.jpg (15567 bytes)

UK only

‘Foofie in St.Alban’s Cathedral’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

I adore gothic cathedral architecture and the awesome stonework of St. Albans provides the richest and most sumptuous backdrop for the quaint little Chinchilla Persian called Foofie.

She has the most enchanting habit of sitting quietly and making sudden dashes if any movement catches her eye. With her full, silver coat, Foofie makes a wonderful subject. She was initially christened Ella, but with the book of Rabbit Foo Foo circulating at the time, the name Foofie seemed to catch on; she doesn’t seem to object to her name and she responds to it with a gaze from those large emerald eyes.

Lucytooatthehrabouroffice.jpg (11312 bytes)

UK only

‘Lucytoo at the Harbour Office’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Lucytoo is also a kitten from Lucy and the last daughter of Zar, before his retirement. She had to be a Lucy but since we couldn’t have two with the same name, she became Lucytoo!

She is the most delicate little Asian smoke cat, barely larger than a kitten herself. Her black, smoke coat is lustrous and shines rather like silk. She has enormous poise and is suited to the position in front of the Harbour Office on Poole Quay, her upright stance and erect tail echoing the mock Roman columns of the building.

£45 each. + P&P

Zarintheminster.jpg (13034 bytes)

UK only

‘Zar in the Minster’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Back in Wimborne Minster again, happy to be back hunting for backgrounds for my beloved cats. I am drawn, here, to the pulpit in the old Minster with it’s polished marble; the textures in the stone reflect the textures in Zar’s coat.

He was born in 1998 and is our original Burmilla stud cat who still lives with us and has pride of place, never having relinquished his position as Top Cat! He has taken a break from play to watch us.

£45 each. + P&P

Tommyandthefishermansfloats.jpg (11435 bytes)

UK only

‘Tommy and the Fisherman’s floats’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

My own memories of Poole Quay all revolve around the boats and the fisherman who traded there. The evocative scents of sea air and fishing boats, and nets drawn up over the quay edge have bought Tommy to investigate. New bollards have been erected along the quay and have not yet rusted; I have taken licence to imagine how they may be many years from now and Tommy approves of the weathered appearance.

He is the ultimate gentleman and I tend to refer to him as Sir Thomas when he rubs around my legs for comfort. He will sit next to me for hours if I allowed him, with that wonderful smile he has, reassuring me that he is there for my protection.

£45 each. + P&P

Opheliaandthechristmasbauble.jpg (13445 bytes)

UK only

‘Ophelia and the Christmas Bauble’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Ophelia is one of Ollivander’s first kittens and her playfulness is the feature of this drawing.

The bauble has appeared from nowhere; she could find toys which we thought had been lost months before. Here she is examining her ‘find’.

The stone textures of St. Alban’s Abbey are the setting for this little jewel of a kitten who lives happily in the New Forest with Jude and Danny and her brother, Oli, who is also a Tiffanie.

£45 each. + P&P

Pushkinandthegreenfabricmouse.jpg (10926 bytes)

UK only

‘Pushkin and the green fabric mouse’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Pushkin is one of those very special cats who was poorly, when he was a kitten, but was grateful for the medical treatment he received and rewards everyone with his adoration of people. Now fully fit, he lives on the west coast of Ireland with several other beautiful Asian cats. His caramel coloured coat and green eyes are a lethal combination for entrapment of his ‘slaves’.

Standing guard over one of his toys, the catnip mouse is a favourite of his. He watches carefully below one of Poole’s ancient gas lamps along one of the lanes in the Old Town.

Threewisecats.jpg (15544 bytes)

UK only

‘Three wise cats’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

One of my favourite haunts is a ruined church, called Knowlton. In the centre of Dorset, set amongst some of the most beautiful rolling countryside in England, this old building has provided me with many happy hours of sketching.

Lucy, Phuan and Ishtar sit in front of the complete archways in the nave and pose for a nativity scene. Lucy, who is a Burmese cat, cuddles Phuan who she loves dearly. In front of them is Ishtar, the Singapura, who is the most loving cat imaginable and I could write an essay about him alone.

£45 each. + P&P

Milowiththepoppyandpebbles.jpg (11473 bytes)

UK only

‘Milo and the pebbles and poppy’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Milo’s proper name is Quosolomilo, but Milo sounds good anyway.

He is Rhani’s only offspring and her pride and joy, being a very beautiful Tiffanie kitten. As a baby he had no sibling company although he did have another litter of younger kittens later.

The warmth of his silver coat suited the weathered timbers of Poole Quay as it was in the middle of the last century; before the desire to keep everything pristine; small flowers and weeds could grow, unmolested, between the textured timbers.

I adore pebbles and their rich patterning, they appear as miniature abstract landscape paintings covering the surface.

£45 each. + P&P

Nutmegandthedandelion.jpg (15928 bytes)

UK only

‘Nutmeg and the Dandelion’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Nutmeg’s warm tabby coat is made to match the creams and ochres in Purbeck stone. The stone is extracted along the Dorset coast, to the west beyond Swanage. I have used it comprehensively in our own garden and it is here that we find Nutmeg, bemused by a dandelion, struggling from between the stones.

Textures in both stone and wood have a fascination for me, which is why I frequently show my cats against these backgrounds.

£45 each. + P&P

Ollianderandthecelticbrooch.jpg (3635 bytes)

UK only

‘Ollivander and the Celtic brooch’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

My school years were spent in Wimborne Minster and I have a nostalgic feeling for the town and Minster. Sitting inside and sketching the background for this drawing bought back memories of doing the same thing 40 years ago.

Ollivander is the most beautiful Tiffanie, born in 2002. The deep earth colours within her coat accentuate the colours of the stonework of the Minster’s nave columns. She has had two litters of kittens who all share her regal poise and divine nature. The brooch reflects the value which we place upon our feline friends.

£45 each. + P&P

Ollivanderandtheliftingbridge.jpg (12803 bytes)

UK only

‘Ollivander and the lifting bridge’

Karismacolour. 11" x 8"

Ollivander again, but now in her native environment, on one of the large bollards which were commonplace along the quayside in Poole. Much of the character of the town has been lost with a view to encouraging more investment; though my own memories of the rugged working quay still remain.

Ollivander would surely approve of the bridge as it was in the past, and would prefer to face the water, watching the boats making their way into and out of the bay.

Her gorgeous plumed tail is one of her features, second only, perhaps to those enormous green eyes!

The Giclée Print is the finest medium to use to show the work to it’s best advantage.

The process is digital and produces prints of a very high quality to bring out the finest details from the original work. They are printed on a fine 300gsm, Somerset textured paper by Dolphin Fine Art Printers in Poole, in the UK.

Each print is then individually hand signed and numbered by the artist, and supplied in a pale ivory card mount.

Sizes are standard for each artist and shown on the page of prints.  Back to Top
