Tangent 4
Oil colour & digital print collage. 48 x 24
One of a series
in which the concept of time is explored, tangentially and
geometrically.
The laws of
physics determine the form of time and space, whilst our own imagination is limited by
known colours, form and dimension. |

In the glassgarden
Oil colour
16 x 12
Structure in
the composition fights with realism as the garden in my dream becomes a sharp and
transparent place. Reality is hard to find but it is clear that our own impact on our
environment is suffocating the little organic life that struggles to exist. |

Anonymous
Oil colour.
17 ½ x 13
I am only a
representative of my species, and am appalled by what we do.
Its
impossible to look at the cohabiting creatures of the planet without a feeling of guilt.
Mankind
dominates the world, clinically and anonymously, never accepting any responsibility for
the destruction. |

Dust to dust
Oil colour.
16 x 12 ½
Thankfully, we
exist for a short time only before becoming part of the matter that is our world.
The
mayflys short existence contrasts with our own uselessly lengthy time on earth. |

Improvisation No.1
Oil colour & digital print collage. 39 x 28
Unplanned from
the beginning, the series of improvisations use the theme of earth and space, using
geometry to link them.
The planet
interacts with a universe and of which it is purely a minute part, much as the cells which
make up my body are purely minute parts of that body
.and each cell is a world in its
own right.

Improvisation No.2
Oil colour & digital print collage. 39 x 28
The second in
the series explores the concept of weathering and decay as part of the process which leads
to reincarnation.
The link is
made between organic and inorganic forms. |

Mirror of dreams
Oil colour.
16 x 12 ½
Nothing is
quite what it seems.
Childhood
creates certainties which become challenged and ultimately undermined as we get older. |
 |
Portrait series 3
Oil colour & digital print collage. 24 x 24
Dreams are made
of this. Marbles are spheres which represent eternity. |
 |
Quay impressions
Oil colour.
14 x 11
The
deep and murky waters which impressed me as a child, and which cause me so much reflection
as they are compromised by pleasure-seeking people who rape the world of its
resources.
