| This is the homepage
of the Ring Of Remedies, a project to make use of the Web Ring
system to link together webpages with interesting and original
information about remedies used in homeopathy. These may be commonly used
remedies or new provings. Information about good remedies for ear infections
etc. isn't what this is about, it's more of a web ring "materia
medica" for homeopaths to browse and use. Hopefully, others will
find it interesting too, but it is primarily a practical resource. To view
the full list of sites/pages in the Ring go to Ring Of
Remedies.
Each link takes you directly to the page with the remedy information on, or to a remedy index page. On each site in the Ring Of Remedies, on the page where you first land, you will find the link below which can be used to move onto the next or previous sites in the ring, go to a random site, choose from a list of the five next sites or go to the complete list and choose from there. It may have been better to call the Ring "Ring Of Homeopathic Remedies" as it is more descriptive but, strictly speaking, a remedy is not homeopathic in itself, only in the way it is used. If you would like your site to join the Ring Of Remedies then see below for how to proceed. If you want to refer someone's site to the Ring, please send them here to read this page first. For more general information on Webrings then go to www.webring.org How To Join The Ring If you feel your pages have information of sufficient content about a homeopathic remedy that is original or is an original, and referenced, compilation then they are most welcome to be part of the Ring. There are some conditions which are mostly to help ensure the ring functions as a complete circle:
If you are happy with this then fill out the form at the bottom of this page, click submit and your site will automatically be entered in the "queue" and you will receive an e-mail with your ID number and other details you will need to save. After checking out your page, the Ring Of Remedies administrator will enter your site in the Ring if you qualify. You will then automatically be sent a message saying that you have been added to the Ring. Please remember that you must have the code working on your page before you can be added! Here are two html scripts which you can copy and paste directly into your web site source code. Choose the one you prefer. The main difference is that the first version of graphics have transparent backgrounds and so can look better on a some coloured or patterned page backgrounds. The circles have white backgrounds which don't show up on pages like this but also can provide a readable base if the page background colour is similar. The circles also take just an extra second or so for your first time visitors to load: SCRIPT 1 <!-- START - Ring
Of Remedies script --> Script 1 looks like this:
This Ring Of Remedies site
is owned by your_name .
SCRIPT 2 <!-- START - Ring
Of Remedies script --> </p> your_e-mail_address "> your_name </a>.</p> yourID ;next"><img
src="ror1anext.gif" border="0"
width="140"
height="140"></a></td> yourID ;prev">Previous Site</a> | <a href="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=remedy;id= yourID ;next">Next
Site</a> | <a yourID ;next5">Next
5 Sites</a> | <a Script 2 looks like this:
| Previous Site | Next Site | Next 5 Sites | Random Site | List Sites |
In the scripts, change the: "your_e-mail_address" Leave all the rest exactly
as it is, though
make sure all images point to your own site (it's easier if you put the
graphics in the same folder as your web page with this code, then you
don't have to think about changing anything else). The Ring Of Remedies
link itself, however, should still point to this page i.e. Change the references to "yourID"
as found in code with "/cgi-bin/" in the line so that the id=
is followed by your Site ID number. For example, if your site ID is 25,
the code should look something like this: 25 &next"> Save the acceptance letter as it includes information you can use to edit your site information. If you have not met the criteria for acceptance, you will also receive an e-mail telling you this. This is NO reflection on the quality of your site. It just means your site didn't meet the criteria for this Web Ring. When In The Ring Once in the ring your site details can be edited by you using your password. Its place in the ring will change randomly each week. You can also view the ring and individual ring site hits. If at any point there is a problem detected with any site in the ring which threatens to break the circle, notification will be e-mailed to the site owner and that site may be moved out of the ring and back to the queue until the problem is remedied. Graphics Here are the choices. The first set is the original, so may still be used. The circles, I think are better looking, especially when displayed with the graphics to either side as above. Choose which you like, or what fits best with the scheme on your site. Included here are also the graphics names, file sizes and the dimensions in pixels.
