(Suzanne) am researching a book about pregnancy, birth and the first year
of parenthood. My aim is to explore the place of the inner wisdom of women,
and their partners, especially our more "intuitive" knowledge,
in the modern age of "medical expertise".
I would very much like to hear your views and experiences. At this stage of the project I am using a questionnaire to help draw out your stories. It doesn't matter when you had your baby, all stories will be helpful. If you prefer not to use the questionnaire, but to write your recollections in another way, this will be equally welcome. Fathers’/partners' experiences are also helpful and I have compiled a separate questionnaire for them. All of the stories I gather, I am treating with the strictest confidentiality. In the final book, I will be disguising people's identity. After I’ve looked at the initial responses, I sometimes contact people again to clarify certain aspects. Later on, I’m hoping to bring together some of the contributors so we can share experiences together and in more depth.The questionnaire is available in e-mail format as well as by post. Just click on the e-mail address below and let me know that you would like to fill one in and I will send you one. It doesn't matter how long ago you had your baby or how or where. I am interested in drawing together a wide range of experiences and am seeking responses from people in Canada, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, USA and wherever! I can also speak French, Italian and Spanish which hopefully will open up the possibility for contributions from a variety of cultures. |
