Supervision
for Qualified Homeopaths and Students

The supervision I offer covers case work, consultation techniques, practice management, self development and personal issues relating to your work.

I treat supervision in much the same way as I do a consultation with a patient. My style is open, relaxed and personable with a need to get to the underlying issues and help you move on. What I have no interest in doing is just dryly checking through case notes, rubric selection and giving bland prescription approval. There will need to be a significant inclusion of yourself within the process whether we work face to face or by e-mail. I am sensitive to the needs of students who feel daunted by supervision and being in the goldfish bowl of being watched during live case taking. It really can be enjoyable for the both of us!

In most cases I suggest we meet first to discuss our needs and see if we get on. If all feels good we can draw up a contract at that point.

Possible Formats

  • Individual Sessions. These usually last for one to two hours and are held at my home in Bristol.
  • Group Sessions. If you would like to work within a group setting, even if only occasionally, the benefits are not only lower cost but a very different way of working and learning.
  • Live Supervision of Cases. For qualified homeopaths this can be a great help to focus on and refine consultation skills. For students it is usually a course requirement.

Experience and Training

I was part of a peer supervision group which worked very intensely from the beginning of my practice and for the following seven years. I have trained in supervision with Sheila Ryan over the past 10 years and more recently have been an assessor on the Society of Homeopaths Registration Project which essentially engages in supervision issues and processing as part of the path towards registration.

Cost and Other Details

Essentially your patients can be paying for all your supervision needs if you are a student. My fee is £25 per hour for 1 supervisee, £30 for 2, £35 for 3, and £40 per hour for 4+ supervisees. The fee is the same for any extra email work and live case taking supervision. Contact me to discuss details.
