With it's cargo of coal this cargo vessel was torpedoed amidships in 1918 by a German U-boat, the  UB103. With the loss of 21 lives. There is some doubt as to the actual purpose of this voyage as the wreck had two trailing logs on board (used to measure speed and distance).

When I dived this wreck July 2004 the whole ship was teaming with life, including some VERY LARGE conger eels. As the damage is in the centre of the wreck it is relatively easy to get your bearings and also to see into a large part of the vessel.
