| Arreton is a narrow roadside village consisting of mainly new housing, but it has
its old quarter with its Church, Manor and Pub. The church has some interesting relics
including a brass plaque that commemorates Harry Hawles who fought at Agincourt. Outside
is the Grave of The Dairyman's Daughter, the heroine of a famous Victorian book. Arreton manor dates from Elizabethan times, and like the church it owes some of its development to the monks from Quarr Abbey. The manor is open to the public in the summer. Nearby is a good craft centre with jewellers, potters and artists. One half a mile to the north is the Robin Hill Country Park, a great day out for the family. Robin Hill Country
