| Brook,
is a tree lined haven amongst the windswept western coastline of the Island, it consists
mainly of expensive houses, some modern. High above the village is the imposing Brook Hill House once home of the writer J B Priestley, it is since been converted to flats. The church has memorials to the lifeboatmen and the wrecks they attended. They were famously brave because on this part of the coastline many ships were wrecked, up to twenty five ships in one night alone ! The coastline here is so rich in fossils that Dinosaur bones can often been as a decoration amongst the houses stonework.
