There are
several sites out on the web that will help you learn about web technologies.
I have listed the ones I use most regularly below. If you know of a site
that you find useful, and you think I should check it out then just e-mail
me and I'll take a look...
- msdn.microsoft.com
- Loads of good high-technology articles
- Art
and the Zen of Web Sites - Useful design tips
- www.favicon.com
- A site with info about the favourite icon
- www.atomz.com
- A very useful search tool that can be added and integrated
with your site. The basic options are free with several professional
business options.
-
www.irt.org - Internet Related Technologies is an online resource
packed full of useful information about a large variety of computer
technologies from the basics of HTML and CSS, covering a whole load
of JavaScript and going on to advanced features like E-Commerce, RDF
and XML.
- A biweekly column by Jakob Nielson on web design and user interfaces.
A very good read.
- A very good Active Server Pages resource
- www.btinternet.com/~paulr/ftp/
- A small, but helpful resource for people wanting to learn how to use
FTP programs.
- The webmonkey from Wired has a
whole load of tutorials on advanced web authoring subjects.
- I read Wired News regularly, it has interesting articles on Business,
Technology, Culture etc.
- A selection of sites, chosen every day for their creative use of web
technologies. The sites selected are not normally great on usability,
however they are normally quite good for the artistic side of the web.
- the open directory - and attempt to make the largest human edited
directory on the web.

I'll add
more helpful sites, and categorise them as I come across them
