How to Use the Wildfire Site & What You'll Find Here

What You'll Find Here

I have written Wildfire to group the content, on the Internet and related computer-based technologies, into several related sections. These are:

  • Articles
  • FAQs
  • Resources

There are some other features on the site, and some more may be coming in the future based on how much time I can devote to the site. Read on for information on the specific nature of the content in each section...

Articles

I, Jamie McHale, have written the articles, at a future date some guest articles may also appear. I write the articles on any technology based subject that I have sufficient knowledge of. These articles may include simple subjects such as HTML, CSS and other web authoring languages, later going into articles on VBScript and ASP programming. In the future, if the site does really well then I might expand out into a few other programming languages. As always there is always some hot, new technology out. I do y best to keep up to date with these and will write articles on recent issues that I have only just learnt about. I will of course link to other resources so you can do some more background reading.

FAQs

I get a few questions asked by users of this site. I do my best to reply to these letters promptly helping people where I can, and if not then pointing them to possible sources of the correct solution. I will publish any relevant or unanswered questions to the site.

Resources

I see quite a few web pages every week, and read loads of interesting articles. The resources section is quite small. I try to add to it articles that I think would be of interest to users of this site. Also included are some links to books that I have read and learnt from. You can buy these books from Amazon.com, or from Amazon.co.uk. Any contribution to the site, via the referral fees that I receive from these books is greatly appreciated.

Other Features

I also include on the site any small snippets of information about activities that I am doing away from web related technologies if I think they might be of interest. Also on the Homepage I maintain a small list of other web sites/publications that I have played an active role in producing.

How to Use The Site

I try constantly to improve the look and usability of the site. I have used a distinct template for each page on the site. Each page has these main features:

  • Title Image - Shows that you are still on the Wildfire site. If it isn't on the page you've probably left! Click the image to return to the Homepage
  • Current location bar - The bar, coloured a darker blue, shows where you currently are on the Wildfire site, each of the subsections of the location are links to that location, higher up the site. Click these titles to jump to that location
  • "Look At" - This bar shows the current subsections/features of the site, click the links to jump to that location
  • Title/Content - Self-explanatory
  • Related Items - This is sometimes included at the bottom of the page to give related links to other material on the wildfire site, or to other articles on the net.
  • Copyright, E-mail Link & Main Site URL - Self explanatory.

Valid CSS! - This site has a valid CSS Style Sheet with no errors
