Just a little bit about me...
My name is Claire Mchardy, I am a small hobby breeder and my registered prefix is Mchardimau.
I live in East Staffordshire, with my husband and two small children and I am a childminder by profession.
I have always owned and loved cats all my life.

My love for British Shorthairs began when I came across another breeder website with BSH Colourpoints.
I fell in love straight away and set out to find one of my very own. I currently have three Girls,
who I adore and hope to breed from this year. I have been actively showing and they have all
done well in kitten classes. Watch the show updates for news and regular updates.

I now own my very own chocolate colourpointed stud, who will be going on the bench shortly,
he is adorable, much loved by all the family and will also be a great asset to my breeding program.

My ultimate goal is to breed tabby colourpoints as I just adore these wonderful cats, and hope
I will reach my goal in the next few years with particular attention to type, size, coat quality
and improving the eye colour.

About the British Shorthair

The British Shorthair is a stocky, compact and powerful cat with a broad chest and sturdy strong legs
with a calm, quite demeanour. The coat is an outstanding feature of this breed.  It is like no other; short,
dense, firm and well-balanced like a deep pile carpet.  The coat requires minimal care as the fur
does not tangle yet has a very luxurious feel.

The British Shorthair is very intelligent, alert and affectionate gifted with lasting patience and a calm,
confident nature. They are extremely loyal people oriented cats and are especially good with children
and other pets. Brit owners greatly value the breeds loyal, calm and quite nature.
British Shorthairs come in a variety of colours from Blue/Brown spotty or tabby, self
or solid colours such as blue, tipped colours, silver shaded, Bi-colours and colourpointed.
