The Derwentside 10 Derwentside Athletic Clubs annual race, formally a very tough 10mile road race but now an equally challenging 10k race with a route that gives competitors the chance to run a very scenic route. The Beamish Tram Challenge A unique event, racing one of the museum's fleet of trams around the track that circles the site of the award winning Beamish Museum. The 10k race contestants will race against the tram then continue through woodland ending up in the Beautiful grounds of Beamish Hall. The Club Handicap Series A 12 part handicap series for club members where everyone has an equal chance of winning due to a handicap system that means if all runners run the PB time all will finish at the same time. Held the 1st Tuesday each month - race to win an individual race or race to win the complete series. The Grand Prix Another members competition based on a series of races in the northeast of various distances, where members gain points for how well they perform against their own PBs. The Cross Country League The winter race series for those who like to get off road. A series of races the club enters as a team and every team member can make a difference. The Annual Awards Night Normally held at the beginning of the year, a chance to celebrate the achievements of the previous year, have a few drinks and look forward to the year just beginning.
