The primary sources for air raid information in Eastbourne, ie the ARP records were destroyed in a fire.
The sources available then are contemporary newspaper reports, books published just after the war and books recently published.
The Eastbourne Chronicle published a day by day record in 1944. After the war this was re-published as "Eastbourne 1939 to 1945". Another book published just after the war was "Front Line Eastbourne". In recent years George Humphrey has produced "Wartime Eastbourne" and in 1998 "Eastbourne at War"
Eastbourne 1939 to 1945 seems to me the fullest and most informative record.
