- Just to show some the power of the internet...
" Hallo from Australia. Last year my children formed friendships at Flagstaff Hill Primary school
with Bethan and Rhys Vaughan, two students visiting for 12 months while their father was on a teaching
exchange in Adelaide, South Australia. The Vaughans live on Essex Road at Southsea and when we visited
the multimap website for a roadmap of the area I found your site, this was a nice co-incidence as my son
(Simon) has just received a letter from Rhys saying he had started at Wimborne Junior School in Mrs
Powell's class. We assume the Junior School is a campus associated with your facility. Some pictures of
the school buildings and playground/surrounds would be of interest to those of us in the Antipodes."
" hallo again - have had another look at the site and found photograhs including the Vaughans in
Australia. Sometimes I am computer illiterate."
- And again..
" You cannot imagine my delight at discovering your site!
I was born in Portsmouth in 1938. I recall my first day at Wimborne Rd Infants school.Rather
traumatic parting from my mother. My teachers name was Miss Bird. On arriving at the school on my second
day, most of the school was Bombed out. Hooray a day off!!
If I can be of any assistance With my memories of early war time schooling please E-Mail me
Regards from a rather hot 40C! Victorian Highlands Australia."
- " What a lovely way to spend Saturday morning.
We have just found your web site and have enjoyed finding our way around.
This was our first visit but I'm sure it won't be our last.
It was lovely to see all the faces we recognised one or two in particular!
We have now got quite a few new additions for our wallpaper collection, Thank you to the photographer.
see you monday morning,Great Reading."
- " I was delighted to find such a well put together Infant website...Well done. I enjoyed looking around and especially liked the
school tour pages.
I even found out how to do some new things from your design, construction and html."
- " Apart from under numeracy - there is very little to actually DO on the site. Why don't you put in some interaction across all the
curriculum areas.
Design a bit flat too!"
- " Adam thinks all the animals on the website are brilliant.
Henry saw himself in a picture and he thought it was great. He was chattering for a change.
Me and Kerrie thought the website was excellent and very interesting for the children and they were rivetted to the wildlife
games."
- "great site - quick download - and homegrown! - loved the images - and the maths!"
- " I couldn't help but write a note to congratulate you on the best school website I've seen! It is highly informative, well
structured and attractively designed."
- " Hello, my name xxxx and I start at the infants in September. I know I'm going to be a Poppy with Mrs Boulter. I had a very nice
time looking at the photos of my new teachers. Mummy says that the web site has been an excellent way to introduce me to my new school
and has helped to put her worries out of her head. I am looking forward to starting in September and making lots of new friends."
- "Site is really good!
Do you have prospectus or anything (and/or booklet produced by council re: general advice?) xxxxx will be 3 in January so we are
already thinking about schools and are in your catchment area.
Any info would be good as no one seems to tell you anything about how to go about finding the right school etc!"
- " As Mrs Rich reminded me yesterday, Wimborne Infants has a web-site. At first glance it looks GREAT and I bet all the teachers
love to see themselves on the internet !!! I will look in further detail later.
Good job Wimborne (as usual)"
- " Hello you might or might not remember me
I was one of your classroom assistants in the summer of 1993 - working with Nicola Skinner. At that time Miss Burbidge
was the head.
I came across your site. Recognised a few faces including Pam Saunders, Lyn, Nicola.
We are living in South Wales, we have been here 3 years. I recently finished full- time education course and I'm now employed by
the NHS as medical secretary.
Hope you are all well."
- " excellent site; but how did Gauss sum 100 in his head?"
- " I have been looking for Wimbourne Road web site for some years.
I must confess that I never went to your infants school, Why, I do not know.I was 5 years old when my family moved to Pompey in
1930.We lived on the Corner of Pretoria Rd [99] and Winter Road. But I had to go to Francis Avenue Infants. I then went to Wimbourne Road
Junior School. I would like to know if that part of the school is still open.
The Headmaster was a real gentleman, Mr Parr, he walked to school from his home every day from the Festing Road area. I too was
in Pompey for those air raids, Had a couple of close shaves but only shaken. I hope to be in Portsmouth may/june 2001.

which you may be interested in including as a free link in your WW2 section. Please visit www.macksites.com to read Tom Fletchers true

- " Well done on the web site.
I run one for my school, so I know how much work is involved.
You might find 'SCHOOL BANNERS Exchange Network' at http://www.schoolbanners.f2s.com useful.

Happy New Year!"
- " Hello I just wanted to say this is a great site!!
I am currently setting up a non-profit "local links" site for Wimborne/Ferndown, called www.wimborne.org which has not been
officially launched as I am still designing the main pages!!
However after coming accross your site I thought you might appreciate a quick easy redirect page:
http://www.wimborne.org/infants
I have made that page already active, if you wish to use it please let me know. This is really is a no strings attached,
advertising free gesture.
I will be putting details on my website shortly of my plans. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line.
Kind regards
Richard"
