SUNFLOWERS
The first half term we have two main themes
The first is Baseline Assessment.
A stress-free experience which is designed to show us what you can do and what you have learned so far so that we can progress from there.
The second is 'Ourselves'.
What do you know about your body? Can you name the different parts of it? How have you changed from when you were a baby to now?
The second half term we move on to Christmas and festivals of light.

These sites are loosely related to the topic. Enjoy them!
This set of links will open a new window. Close it to return here.
  • If you want to find out more about Baseline Assessment, go to the DfEE site and type 'baseline' in the search box and follow the link this produces. Or, or course, you could ask Mrs Skinner or Mrs Aldridge!
  • This site contains a host of links about the human body and growth.
Since it covers a wide age range you will need to act as an intelligent filter.
  • You may find this quiz from the BBC amusing. Just pick the appropriate level!

After half term we shall spend time looking at Christmas, celebrations, festivals and so on.
Here are is an initial cull of sites connected with that

  • This is a BBC site about children in Victorian Britain
  • Although this is a commercial site it has some excellent insights into a Victorian Christmas - largely from publications of the time.
  • Again commercial but look at the fact book, send an electronis Christmas card, email Santa
  • An MSN Encarta online view of Christmas
Here are some sites dealing with Festivals of Light in general, which you may find interesting
